LET'S GET SAVOY IN THE UK!!!

Welcome to the Project Daylight campaign page. The aim of this page is to try and increase aweness of the Project which devotes itself to attempts at getting Savoy some airplay and promotion primarily (but not exclusively) in the UK. The object of the exercise is to try and break the band out of Norway and into the rest of the world. Pål's 'unfathomable' expression fails to halt Lauren's advance.

If you're reading this page I assume that you are a Savoy fan , who is interested in getting Savoy recognised on a large scale outside of Norway. This page is intended to provide a guideline as to what we, the commonal garden fans can do to help Savoy on their way to greater things. All support for this campaign will be greatly appreciated.

We'll break 'em down before we rest ...

The campaign has been suspiciously quiet in recent months - as have the band themselves. Their new album, provisionally titled 'Mountains' is out in May. Fingers crossed that information about this is released early enough for the campaign to get going again.

The last campaign ... CD Singles of "I Still Cry" were despatched to all the individuals listed below on Thursday 26th February 1998. They were sent Registered Post and were presumably received by the individuals in question no later than Monday (2nd March). Copies have also been passed on to London's X-FM (certain DJ's there loved "Foreign Film") and Norwich's Student Radio "Livewire".

These despatches are now a couple of months old, but if you have time, please continue to mail these DJ's, and any others you feel may be receptive to Savoy's music. The great gig on Monday 9th, followed by the two shows in New York on April 14th & 21st will have opened a few ears: this is a critical time for the band. We all have our fingers crossed, but lets uncross them long enough to send email!!! Your help and support is greatly appreciated. Thank you all.

Suzie Dent has been running a campaign parallel to Project Daylight compiling a listing of which fans would be prepared to travel to gigs. Suzie's campaign was instrumental in attaining decent attendance figures at the recent UK gig. If you're new to Savoy, or just haven't got around to mailing her please do!!! Please include your full name, email and/or snail mail address and a phone number if possible. Mail her from the link at the bottom of the table.

On a related note, if you want to hear what the band sound like live, follow this link for more information on how to obtain live tapes from a number of the band's recent gigs.

Ultimately, there is a limit to what we, the fans can do, but if anyone has any other ideas as to how we can get Savoy more exposure, please email Project Daylight We are open to suggestions and all help is appreciated. When it comes down to it we are all working for the same end goal. If you have information that could be of help, please contact us :) Obviously we are not just sat around at the moment waiting for something to happen we are actively seeking information and will make it available as and when we can!!! Keep checking this page and the (currently unavailable)Savoy Guestbook for details. We'll update both as soon as we can!

Previous Campaigns

Promo copies of Foreign Film were sent to both Chris Evans and Simon Mayo. Emailing & writing did produce a response even though it was not as positive as we might have hoped for.

Unfortunately there is, as yet, no video for any of the singles off Lackluster Me, a great oversight in my opinion, but not one that anyone bar the band and EMI Norsk can do much about. At this point I am refraining from the thought that we should bug EMI Norsk about this ... although it's been mentioned to the band :)

There was a lack of information as regards the Christmas single "Xmas Time (blows my mind)" otherwise we'd have tried to get hold of copies and pestered national radio DJ's further. Lack of information is our biggest problem (not so subtle dig at the record company here) the more we know, the more we can do.
